Last year, I wrote something about a friend who was robbed and badly injured {post: here}. She is still in the recovery process. She lost everything. Strength is not easy to get but she is strong. Lea, I know you read this. You'll get over it soon. You're one strong girl. You'll get over it soon, Insyaallah.
Couple of weeks ago, a colleague of mine had to take an emergency leave coz her boyfriend's mother was caught with an accident. She was snatched thief on her way back home from work. She was struggling to safe herself but unfortunately, she passed away after few days on coma. Her head was badly injured. She passed away.
Few days ago, my best friend's sister was robbed at Jalan Sultan Ismail. Unlucky for her as she had her gelang emas (2 gelang emas) that she wanted to send for a repair, two mobile phones, one Galaxy Tab and another model of Samsung's latest gadget which I have no idea off, personal documents, credit cards (she carried 5 of them, gila kau Kak Long), cash and house/car keys were taken away within seconds. Her company's laptop was in the bag too. Memang jackpot gila pencuri tu tak perlu mencuri untuk masa sebulan. But Alhamdulillah, she's ok! Only bruises at the back side of her body and around the arm area. What's important is that she's safe without any serious injuries.
Question: What is happening to world today?
It's no longer safe. Crimes everywhere and it's getting worst each time. It's beyond control. There's no point in pointing to the authority. Apa yang hanya boleh di kata adalah, ayat paling common sekali, "benda dah jadi, nak buat macam mana?". But nothing has been done so far. For all we know, we are living in dread.
Kadang-kadang kita yang berhati-hati ni lah yang kena. Rumah berkunci pon kena rompak. Balik pasar pon kena ragut. And there's nothing we can do about it.
That's what living in Kuala Lumpur is all about.
