Maulud Nabi

If we truly understand the sacrifices Prophet Muhammad s.a.w had done for us ummah Islam, Islam will be the greatest religion in the world. All blessing on him.

And of course, there is no other programs aired today on TV other than Islamic programs. There's Jejak Rasul, a documentary program on the journey of Nabi Muhammad s.a.w in defending Islam (my favourite of the day). There's an entertainment show on celebrities reciting selawat in nasyid and numerous of talk shows on Maulidul Rasul. And I caught a very familiar face in one of the show.

They interviewed my uncle as one of the tokoh contoh Maulidul Rasul for being able to raise his children based on ajaran Nabi. He's 40+, a very successful pilot with 3 kids all grown up. No, I'm not here to write about him but he reminds me so much of his late father, my granduncle who has been the responsible man in feeding me with ajaran akhirat. From a totally stupid tak tahu mengaji girl to a one who is able to teach her cousin mengaji. Not to brag but I feel very honored and thankful for being able to be taught by my granduncle, an army pensioner who was also a very rocky rock pakcik mengaji. He's not an Ustaz. He doesn't go to any institutions to learn Islam. But he attended a so called sekolah pondok in Terengganu to mendalami Islam but I can assure you that no Ustaz can beat his knowledge. He even taught sekolah tahfiz in Pahang. A number of them in fact.

He wrote his own buku mengaji for us his student to understand tajwid/jawi/surah-surah wajib in the simplest way. Oh, he taught us in English coz he wants us all to be good in English. In fact, some of us did our English homework during our mengaji session while he sat there in front teaching us grammar. I kid you not. He even punished anyone who failed English during exams.

"Sekolah kena pandai. Maths & English kena hebat. Nanti senang nak tolong mama & bapak. Tapi mengaji kena excellent sebab nanti senang nak jawab dengan tuhan", was what he told me whenever we meet.

He is a strict man but he never forces anyone in mengaji. He teaches wholeheartedly coz he wants us to be good, in dunia dan akhirat. And I can say I have all the ilmu that I needed all from him. Semoga rohnya ditempatkan di dalam golongan orang-orang yang beriman. Amin.

My uncle raise his children just like how my granduncle raised him. Tiada paksaan tetapi ilmu agama mesti ada. He sent my uncles to a good school and Alhamdulillah, the older one is a very successful Accountant who owns a chalet in Langkawi and the other one, the tokoh contoh is a Captain Pilot for MAS. Oh, he is also the reason why I always wanted to marry a pilot but I never did anyway. But I'm blessed with the man that I married now.

Mereka tidak warak but lucky for my granduncle that both his sons were able to khafankan, mandikan, kebumikan, mengtalkinkan by themselves both my granduncle and grandaunt. For us family, we always go to them for advices especially when it comes to soal agama.

I'm proud that I have had my life spent with my granduncle. He taught me a lot. I couldn't thank him enough for all the knowledge that he has spared me. He's always be in my prayers. Always.

Al-Fatihah.
