Big breakfast @ Kaffe Cafe, TTDI

Thanks to Groupon, we were able to get 4pax of all-day big breakfast at Kaffe Cafe, TTDI for 66% discount.

I purchased this attractive deal last February. There was a post on Mukha Cafe I wrote quite some time ago. We were supposed to have the breakfast there but ended up going to Mukha as the crowd was just madness. Finally, after two months of delay, we were able to make our visit to the cafe last Saturday. Taj couldn't make it as she had to leave for Sarawak on Friday. Good news, we were enjoying her portion to ourselves.

Like any other big breakfast, they have the scrambled eggs with toasted bread, sausages, hash brown, beef bacon and salted mushroom and baked tomato as the side dishes. I had them with my large cup of black coffee.

Rasanya bagaimana ya?

It was just so-so. I have tasted better big breakfast elsewhere. I wasn't expecting any good taste out of it. We purchased this simply because it's.... cheap!

Kaffe Cafe isn't the best choice to go to for breakfast/brunch. There are other cafes that serve nicer delicious food for breakfast/brunch but if you really have no choice, I guess why not! The bacon was a bit salty.

But what's important was I had it with my favourite girls. The company that's important, not much on the food though.

Over a cup of coffee

Generally, weekend is where we spend most of our time with our family and friends - having brunch or a quick dinner just to get an update on their up and about.

Similarly like others, my weekend is where the boys will come over to the house while my mom will prepare food for them or a quick jalan-jalan with lil Iman at the park. But I hardly spend my weekends with my girls.

For some people, it is a ritual for them to have a quick get-together brunch/lunch/dinner with their close friends. Unlike others, my close friends are super busy with their own lives. One is still cooping with managing her own little family (having a 6 months old baby boy is as challenging as taking care a growing up lil Iman) while the other one is busy doing her home-diy-decorating project and the other one who is still learning to overcome her heartbroken-ness needs the time on her own. Hence, to fix the time where everyone is free and available is indeed..... difficult.

I can safely say that our get-together will only be once every quarter sebab nak celebrate everyone's belated birthdays. Oh yes, we celebrated our birthdays the belated way. Sungguh unik bukan. It's our thing, we can't help it!

Anyway, my point is, although we do not have time for each other atau dalam bahasa lembutnya, we hardly meet each other, that doesn't mean that our relationship is loosen up because we built our friendship base on trust not by frequent get-together meetings.

I know that I can rely on them on anything and I know that they will always be there for me whenever I need them the most. We don't need to meet each other every-so-weekend just to update ourselves on our whereabouts. Itu dah macam client's WIP meeting pulak nak kena update every week. We can still communicate with each other through technology though! We still keep ourselves updated about each other through phone calls. Tak perlu physical meeting because we have other commitments that requires our time instead of having a weekly get-together, kan?! Therefore, we will make sure that the time spent for each other were the quality ones. Kan lebih bermakna.

This friends I have are the ones that I'll keep for the rest of my life - the ones that will never lie, the ones that will always tell the truth even though truth hurts, the ones that will say everything in all honesty and these are the ones who will share my ups and down. Real friendship doesn't requires weekly get-together, real friendship requires honest love which we have for each other.

Throwback Thursday, eh Friday

Ohh how I miss blogging. I have not being actively blogging for the past 1 month (since the day Semester 3 started actually.) My life has been rolling up and down like a roller coaster rushing for work and assignments. No fun at all. I think I'm loosing myself bit by bit.

Anyway, I am supposed to be on MC today. Wisdom tooth problem. Whatever that means. But, here I am taking this opportunity to write on my precious blog. Chewah!

Very random image appeared in my head yesterday night while driving back from work. The images of my beloved bestfriends and the fun we had during our short weekend gateway to Penang. This was on 2009 and our main objective of the gateway was to attend a friend's wedding.

It was one of the happiest weekend I have had so far. There were only us and us only.

Since we just started our working life, we stayed at Vistana Hotel as Zarina is under the category of Government Servant hence we were entitled for a discounted room price. We jalan-jalan around Penang, had the best time of our life experiencing Penang on our own. Not on our own actually, I stayed in Penang for 7 years remember?! So basically, I was the tour person then.

My point is, I miss being fun and free. Being able to have this short gateway really meant a lot to me. By this, does not mean that having a family of my own does not permit me to still being fun and free. Just that it does not feel the same anymore.

The fun and free being an adult means being able to coop with the responsibility - being able to feed your children, to give them the love that they need, to be able to make them smile and being able to be the best for your family.

I am not complaining. In fact, I am very much thankful for what I have now. A family to be called my own. I am thankful to have the opportunity to spend it with my friends as well. I'm thankful and lucky to have them in my life.

Reminiscing the good ol' days reminding me that I shouldn't complain much about life. I am fortunate for being able to experience being fun and free with my family and friends - those who matter the most to me. This is the good life that I should embrace and stop asking for more (ooppsss!).

We are human and we are the greedy type of human. We tend to ask things that we already have. Being ungrateful, that's the word! And I should stop being a greedy person.

Take a step backwards my friend and start reminiscing your good ol' days. And you'll know how good it feels.

Have a nice weekend friends and remember to be thankful all the time.

My weekend was good, how about you?

I had a very fruitful weekend. From going to a friend's wedding to hosting a mini open house.

Saturday

One of my closest friend had her wedding reception on Saturday. The event was held at Kem Wardieburn, Setapak. Very meriah wedding event of anak askar ni.

Sedikit touching during the event as Umi (the bride) is someone that is very close to my heart. We've known each other since primary school. We were classmates since primary 4 up till Form 5 (not counting Form 1-3 as we were not in the same class then). We were on the same school bus during both primary & secondary years. We have shared our love-hate friendship throughout our growing years in BBGS hating each other sebab konon-konon "I am too cool for you" and we have also helped each other in scoring our Accounting paper for SPM. And eventhough we went on our own separate ways (I went to KMPP & USM while Umi went to KMK & UITM) but we still keep in touch with each other. She is on of the girls who I can cakap merepak with.

And she's married now to her loving husband. May you have a wonderful married life fill with love and happiness hingga ke Jannah, In Shaa Allah. I am so very happy for you my friend.

And of course, I met my usual bunch of girlfriend during the event. Meriah mak!

Sunday

We decided to host a mini open house for friends and family yesterday. Mini open house because we only invited close family & friends to our house. Alaa, my house very small, can't fit a lot of people at one time.

We had Nasi Lemak sambal sotong, Nasi Arab sedap & Macaroni soup malay style. Unfortunately, I did not have photos of each dishes. Tapi nak cakap makanan memang habis semua and kaki sangat penat selepas mencuci pinggan & kemas rumah.

Of course, the usual bunch.

And......The whole gang. Thanks for coming guys.

Ohh, I had so much fun making other people's tummy happy. I'm happy when your tummy is happy :)

But now, here I am still in the office waiting for client's proposal at 7pm. I want to go home!!!!

Have a nice day kawan-kawan.

7 + 2

Had our annual breaking fast get-together with the usual gang last Saturday. Terlewat pulak this year due to commitment and to get everyone's free time is very hard nowadays. It's either I'm free or they're simply not. Finally, we managed to settle down last Saturday at Dashing Fish, Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC).

I actually planned to write about the restaurant. Tapi memanglah tak jadi sebab bawa Iman so nak jadi photographer sememangnya tidak berkesempatan. Furthermore, I was not feeling well that day. Makan pon taklah banyak mana. Tak banyak langsung in fact. I don't even finish the small portion that they gave me. Ikan lazat semua tak dapat nak ratah pon.

The only picture I have from our dishes. Not convincing at all

Based on my sakit tekak punya rasa, I gotto say that Dancing Fish is a place to go. It's an Indo-Malay cuisine and they serve marvelous dishes. We ordered the fish with kerabu mangga sauce & a black color sauce which I can't remember the name. We had the egg taufu as well which is highly recommended, the black pepper beef (I think) and lemak pucuk paku.

And since my tekak is super sakit, I had their Teh Koci which was very nice. It's soothe my sakit tekak.

I shall visit again and I promise I'll write a proper food review of Dancing Fish.

To my surprise, they were actually planning for my belated birthday celebration. Agak terkejut jugak. Didn't expect it anyway. Buy yea, thanks girls. I love you guys dunia akhirat.

12 years and counting

They got me the chocolate cupcakes. Sedap lah jugak but as I said earlier, tekak tak berapa nak sedap so I had few slices of each. It was so nice of them to belanja. Terharu jugaklah.

Anyway, we expanded our group member. Introducing Miss Lil Iman Alexandria & Lil boy Qaysar Farish to the group.

To many more years of friendship. Love love so much.

22 signs you're an ex-convent school girl

Got this from Facebook. Who ever who posted this, I got to say that I am 100% agree with you. I went to an all girls school, spent 11 of my wonderful years learning and living my life surrounded by great and wonderful friends.

So, here you go:-

  1. You're cool with doing the heavy lifting - as long as it's manageable. What? Wait for the guys to come help out? Girl, we went through 11 years of school without a single guy in sight (unless you count that wimpy math teacher), and we did just fine.
  2. You have that one group of girlfriends that you know will be there for you. FOREVER.
  3. "Friendship problems' don't throw you anymore. We've been through 5 years in a school full of girls going through puberty all at the same time. It was hell. There would always be at least one person in any classroom PMSing at any one time - plus we pretty much hung out with the same group of girls so much that our cycles literally synched up. Yes, it's not a myth; it's true. Which basically means WAR every few weeks. I repeat. It was hell
  4. But then again, that's what make our friendship stronger than anything else in the world.
  5. You went through a lesbian phase - or there was at least one moment in your life where you actually looked at another girl and went.."hmmm..not bad"
  6. You recognition that lap lap dance scene - yes! it's from the L word.
  7. You remember the first time you wore a skirt without shorts underneath - your thighs had never felt cooler
  8. Lesbian tendencies aside, a lot of your conversations with friends had to do with Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Josh Hartnett, Jude Law...and well, every male celebrity that came to our attention
  9. For years after secondary school, you never wore a skirt that went below your knees, thanks to a ridiculously strict dress code that you had to follow for a full decade.
  10. You look pretty presentable and kind of demure to strangers. But when you're with your friends, it's a whole different story
  11. But in spite of that, the morals you learnt at school have somehow stuck with you through all these years.
  12. An you still kind of remember the words to Our Father.
  13. And some hymns will never ever leave your mind for good. Like As The Deer, What was with that song?
  14. You went through a major vain phase.
  15. And have heard people bitch about the weight one too many times
  16. You understand that skirt rolling is an art
  17. And you hate it when young girls cross the line and go full slut.
  18. You're definitely not afraid to speak your mind
  19. Because somehow we've been trained to be strong, independent women.
  20. And even though we've been through a lot of shit as ex-convent girls
  21. And at times it sort of felt like this - "All I want to do is just finish high school in peace and go away to a state with lots of people who don't know who I am and just start over"
  22. The experience, memories and friendship were all kind of worth in the end
Kan?!

Sekali lafaz, sah!

About a month ago, one of my closest friends has officially signed the agreement letter of becoming a devoted loving wife to her beloved husband. The solemnization was held at her house the night of Merdeka Day followed by her reception on the next day and the groom's side the following day - one whole stretch!

The wedding prep was done about a year ago assuming that she'll pass her ACCA exams in November 2011 which she did! The initial plan was to have her wedding somewhere early this year but somehow the news of her sister and brother wanting the same thing as she is which is getting married, she decided to have hers in between them siblings. Oh, I can assure you that there were hell lot of dramas happening and finally, August 31, 2012 marked the day that ends her singlehood.

Syomir did the dress while she was "painted" nicely by Najeeb. She looked stunning in that dress.

Dengan sekali lafaz Adil sah sebagai suami. I laughed during the akah, don't ask me why.

I always love akah nikah ceremony. It reminds me of my own. You can feel the love aura in the room. You can see how in love the bride and groom are.

The reception took place the next day at Dewan Perdana Felda.

Group photo

Sekali sekala nak glamour
It was a good ceremony. Though it was a bit delayed but it was a good ceremony.

To Taj and Adil, congratulations and may this new journey be showered with lots of love and happiness. Shit happens and you may find that your partner is too annoying for you to handle but never give up hope on each other. Never stop communicating. Once you done that, it's a gone case! Love much xo.

3 down, 1 to go.

And they lived happily ever after

It's been nearly 3 weeks since the event took place. It's been a year and a half since he proposed and the pressure has never stopped since. I'm lucky to have witnessed the holy ceremony of Faiz and Yanti to be solemnized at Masjid Besar Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam, watching my dearest best friend finally, finally be a wife to her beloved husband and I couldn't be happier to be part of the event celebrating the love of two beautiful souls who are very dear to me.

The event took place after Asar and Alhamdulillah, everything went well as planned. Dengan sekali lafaz, they were officially man and wife witnessed by family and close friends. It was indeed a good day.

The reception was held a week after and unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the event as I was one of the bridesmaid. Yes, the 7 and a half months pregnant (then) woman was a bridesmaid of the day, sitting glamorously on the side of the grand dais dengan perut yang tak sedar diri dah boyot, I am proud to announce that I had my heels on. Hey, if Victoria Beckham can wear her 4 inch heels while being pregnant, so do I! *tepuk tangan ramai-ramai*.

To you my dear, have a wonderful life ahead. Banyak-banyakkan bersabar dan belajarlah untuk banyak-banyak bersabar. May the both of you lead a wonderful life together, experiencing the good and bad of each other, to love each other through thick and thin, sickness and health...for eternity, Insyaaallah. Semoga dimurahkan rezki dan diberkati olehNya, Insyaallah, Amin.

I am honestly, deeply happy for the both of you.

Love from the both of us,
Ajie & Karim

Case of Fortunate Event

An aunt from Taiping came last month to hand her eldest son, my cousin's wedding invitation. She was telling how nice the girl was to have waited Firdaus for the longest time and how she never give-up on Firdaus even though he was facing with his own issues then to have supported Firdaus with his therapy and "sickness". She stood by his side all the way for nearly 8 years to see him fully recovered. Alhamdulillah, jodoh mereka sangat kuat, they were solemnized yesterday morning and the wedding reception was held on the same day.

When I saw the card written Normah Salleh as the mother of the bride, it didn't ring a bell at all plus the wedding was held at the hall of my school compound, I was like "wow, sejak bila sekolah kasi buat wedding event?" nor did my aunt inform that her future besan (then!) is the school teacher hence why the wedding will be held there.

Unfortunately, I did not attend the ceremony as my best friend had her wedding reception on the very same day. My parents were there to witness the holy ceremony but were too blur to notice on anything.

To cut things short, Normah Salleh, the mother of the bride is also happen to be my ex-class teacher is now my cousin's mother-in-law.

A small world indeed.

How weird it is to know that your class teacher, who sees all the good and bad side of you (oh, she was my class teacher for two years - form 4 & 5 to be precised! Zaman di mana tahap kenakalan adalah di tahap separa maksima) is now your cousin's mother-in-law. Honestly, I am still in shock!

But if you think about it again, it's actually kinda cool to have your teacher as part of your new extended family - cool in the most awkward way! After all, she's no stranger to you. So, yeah!

On the other hand, my mother found her long lost related cousin at my best friend's wedding who also happen to be her husband's uncle. Another case of fortunate event that happened on the same day, Saturday, 29 October 2011.

Good Saturday Afternoon

A soon to be married best friend of mine is having hard time with her wedding preparations. A bridezilla she is, we decided to treat her with something nice before officially tying the knot with her future husband. A 2 hours Spa session at Poise Organic Wellness Studio was where we were yesterday afternoon.

Credit to: Poise Organic Wellness Studio

Thanks to Groupon, we managed to grab a worth-cheap ass 75% discount on full head to toe treatment. In way, I got to claim the much needed "me" time that I've been longing for. Only this time, I got to spend it with the girlfriends, how cool is that?! Being pregnant doesn't stop me from pampering myself with the goodness of Spa treatment although I did not get to enjoy the jacuzzi bath / steam bath / sauna but the full body scrub + foot massage + full body + head massage + eye refreshment were the bomb-est! I felt so fresh, light and most importantly, I felt clean after the session.

Before our 2pm session.

To bad that I didn't take photos of yesterday's event. Too caught-up with the "kesedapan". The place is nice. Totally recommended. Oh, it's so happen that the owner is an ex-stuff of SAA. A small world it is. Pi mai pi mai, tang tu saja!

I wish I could have the luxury to spend on Spa treatment every month. Tapi apa kan daya, I have other commitments to prioritize instead of spending just on leisure. Tapi apa yang penting, yesterday was the bomb-est!

How was your weekend? Hope you got to enjoy it as much as I am! *happy smile*

The one that stays

Life is not about the people who act true in front of your face, but it's about the people who remain true behind your back

#The Love Stories

My favourite girls

Annual buka puasa with the gang last Saturday was the bomb! Chewah! It wasn't about the food, though we stuffed our tummies with unstoppable in-coming good yummylicious food for berbuka but it was more of the company that was there to enjoy the food with you. Syukur Alhamdulillah for I have been given the opportunity to share my love and life with people that's true to my heart.

Lucky girl I am

Had a fun day yesterday. Had the usual girls-meet-up-day with the girlfriends to accompany one of them for material hunting. Never knew that material hunting can be so much fun especially when you're surrounded by those who are sucker for materials. Walked the entire building just for the sake of it and let me tell you, it was hell of a fun day!

Had dinner with the troops at William to discuss over our mini road trip but ended up receiving a surprise wedding gift from them instead. I'm truly honestly flattered by the gift, I cried the moment they announced it. I'm over the moon weyh, like dah sampai Pluto!

A sneak peek of what we are getting:-

Sponsored by the girls I'm like pengsan already!

Speechless and happy at the same time. Hey, who doesn't when you're getting a free night stay at the hotel above?!

Thanks girls. Love much.

Senyum Colgate

I don't need millions of friends to tell me how good my life is. Not that I actually have but I need friends that will always be there when I needed them the most. Friends that aren't two faces. Friends that are there to lend their shoulders to cry on. Friends that are able to tell me how ugly I look for growing uncounted number of pimples on my face. Friends that are there to pick me up when I'm down. Friends that are able to tell me how stupid I've become for making such decision. Friends that are able to share their spoons with me. Friends that are able to scream and shout at me for being a reckless-self-centered person. Friends who are able to wake me up when I'm all above the sky. Friends that are able to say that I've picked the wrong man as a partner. Friends that are there to fight with me. Friends that will say "NO" to my decisions. Friends that will love me for my flaws. Friends that are not pretentious. Friends that will never judge. Friends that are there to laugh cynically to my stupid jokes (as I never good in creating one). Friends that would stay even when I farted. And most importantly, friends that are honest.

Hey, who doesn't right? And I bet you have one too.

See how much I've grown? My face is soo BoooLaat!

I'm lucky that I have these 3 amazing girls as my friend. Friends that fulfill all the criteria above. Friends that are there through thick and thin. Friends that will never judge.

We don't get the chance to meet each other that often. Everyone has their own life to live, other commitments to be taken care off. But we know that we have each other for support and love.

Hey, this doesn't mean that I'm no friend with anyone else. It's just that they are my definition of a true friendship. Kawan susah senang melayu cakap.

I'm blessed! Alhamdulillah.

To Nadia and Sobri, Selamat pertunangan. Semoga kalian bertahan merempuhi konon-konon alam "darah manis" untuk jangka masa 5 bulan ini. Take good care of each other. Be patience. There'll be a point where you will given up on your hope. There'll be a point where you feel like canceling your wedding. There'll will be a point where anger and hatred take control of you. Be patience and always, always believe in each other. Banyak-banyak berdoa semoga segalanya berjalan dengan lancar. All the love and joy to the both of you.

9 years and counting

The people that I can always count on, besides my family and Izwan. The people that will never judge. The people who are there to lend their ears and shoulder to cry on. The people who I care and love the most.

I look tired in every pictures taken. I was actually. Was having a tough day hopping from one place to another. But the day spent with those people, seeing those faces really turned by day on.

Girls, I really hope that our weekend gateway menjadi though I doubt it will happen. Takpe, gateway tak jadi, SPA relaxing time harus ok!!

Cerita hujung minggu

No, not that I'm not grateful for the parental help but I think, sometimes, just sometimes, they go overboard. Being excited is OK but don't get too high on it. Let's keep it slow shall we?!

I had a fight with my dad this morning. Sorry daddy, please don't blame me for I have the same kind of genes as you. I'm your daughter remember? Knowing me who has zero level of patience and the tendency to speak recklessly, we screamed at each other this morning. I was too angry, I even cried while "talking" with dad. All this, all this has got to do with my marriage application.

I know that he is excited over these whole wedding prep thingy. I get it, I do! But there are things that I need to do on my own. Say, like this marriage application for instance. It's me who has to get all the forms and whatnot and get it approved before the solemnization but why must he.............oh well, I get the excitement! I really do!

As a result, we are currently not talking to each other. It's better that way. Knowing my father, he'll talk to me eventually. It's the matter of time.

He was supposed to send me to the printing shop to print the wedding invitation card the same morning. But since the whole drama occurred, he decided to bail on it. Oh, for those who don't know me, my level of ketegaq is very very high. It's the ego actually. But what the heck, my ego has been my best friend ever since and I trust my ego more than you. Yes, you! So off I went to Jalan Pudu to get my wedding invitation card printed. Memang random sungguh pergi ke Jalan Pudu. Emosi telah membawa kepada kejayaan yang tidak ternilai. Di tambah pula apabila perjalanan ke sana hanyalah menggunakan public transportation ye puan-puan. Saya tahu, saya memang awesome. I am very proud of you, my ego! You're awesome! Sorry daddy, you raised me well to always do things independently and that is why most of the things I did were discreetly kept as secret. Not till I told you so.

But I got my kind of therapy right after. The meeting with my best girls has totally changed the mood. I had so much fun. I got the kind of laugh that I needed for the longest time. Work and life have been depressing much lately and I got the chance to repair them with the girls.

Sadly, life gets to normal right after too. I ter-accidentally accepted an order made by my cousin. Her friend requested 50 cupcakes and I totally forgot about it. The worst part is, she is coming to collect them tomorrow. I have no choice but to bake them as early morning as possible.

I'm starting at a new place on Monday and I haven't had the rest before starting fresh. I'm exhausted.

That's all for today. Good night lovers. Sleep tight.

Three

Three is the number of pimples I have scattered all over my face. They are placed nicely at the middle of my batang hidung (saling tak tumpah macam Ultraman Taro), at the corner of my chin and on the right cheek. Reddish and most importantly, they are VISIBLE even when you're miles away.

Three is the number of days left before saying goodbye to SAA *sad*. I know I'm going to cry bucket of tears on Friday. I dare not elaborate more on this. We shall wait till Friday comes. But nonetheless, work has been piling up high since Monday and I don't think I would be able to clear everything before I leave. *Sigh*

Three is also the number of things that I need to get it done by November.
  • To get the wedding card printed.
  • To get all the surat kahwin ready (nak kahwin pun kena surat-menyurat)
  • And to find more $$$ *double sigh*
Three is the time showing at the clock now and I'm still freshly awake. I'm still working on the flash file. I'm still struggling with flash commands. I'm still worrying about work. I'm still thinking about work and I am still freshly awake. Hurmmm...

Three is the number of wishes that I currently pray for:-
  • Nak cepat kahwin, saya stress kerja!
  • Nak cepat kahwin, saya stress kerja!
  • Nak cepat kahwin, saya stress kerja!

Three is officially not my favorite number.

But,

The only good thing about three is the number of girls I have as my besterestest friends that I'm going to meet in three days time *super excited*
