Case of Fortunate Event

An aunt from Taiping came last month to hand her eldest son, my cousin's wedding invitation. She was telling how nice the girl was to have waited Firdaus for the longest time and how she never give-up on Firdaus even though he was facing with his own issues then to have supported Firdaus with his therapy and "sickness". She stood by his side all the way for nearly 8 years to see him fully recovered. Alhamdulillah, jodoh mereka sangat kuat, they were solemnized yesterday morning and the wedding reception was held on the same day.

When I saw the card written Normah Salleh as the mother of the bride, it didn't ring a bell at all plus the wedding was held at the hall of my school compound, I was like "wow, sejak bila sekolah kasi buat wedding event?" nor did my aunt inform that her future besan (then!) is the school teacher hence why the wedding will be held there.

Unfortunately, I did not attend the ceremony as my best friend had her wedding reception on the very same day. My parents were there to witness the holy ceremony but were too blur to notice on anything.

To cut things short, Normah Salleh, the mother of the bride is also happen to be my ex-class teacher is now my cousin's mother-in-law.

A small world indeed.

How weird it is to know that your class teacher, who sees all the good and bad side of you (oh, she was my class teacher for two years - form 4 & 5 to be precised! Zaman di mana tahap kenakalan adalah di tahap separa maksima) is now your cousin's mother-in-law. Honestly, I am still in shock!

But if you think about it again, it's actually kinda cool to have your teacher as part of your new extended family - cool in the most awkward way! After all, she's no stranger to you. So, yeah!

On the other hand, my mother found her long lost related cousin at my best friend's wedding who also happen to be her husband's uncle. Another case of fortunate event that happened on the same day, Saturday, 29 October 2011.

Randomism

I've been dreaming about work every night whole of this week and it's freaking me out. I have a life yo! Work isn't just the life I lived in. Kerja, Kerja, go away!

It's pretty amazing to be able to feel the movement of the little person inside you every day and every night. The kind of feeling that can never be expressed in any ways.

It's hard to explain to your partner the feelings you have and the pain you feel during pregnancy. Oh, how I wish that men could experience being pregnant even just for a day so they'll know how physically and emotionally challenged pregnant women are. But I still give credit to the husband though, for keeping up with his super crazy-pregnant wife. So husband, a big kiss thank you to you *muaaahhhhh*

An additional member to the family tree. Alhamdulillah and congratulations :)

I seriously don't understand why kids nowadays hate going to school. I remember loving school so much. It's the thing I look-forward to every day. I love my schooling days. Care-free!

I miss Penang. I miss the weather, the beach, the cheap dvds, Feringhi night market, the ride to Feringhi, the evening drive to the beach, the food (oh, the food!), the night life and every dirty places that Penang has. Amat kerinduan. I miss my Penang life, like very much!

If only I can start my maternity leave now. Sigh!

Sambal Belacan

Kakak posted this on facebook. I don't remember watching this ever interesting TVC on air tambah-tambah lagi when it's for Hari Malaysia. Check punya check, rupanya it was on Astro some time last year and had the re-run this year celebrating Hari Malaysia.

Kudos Digi!

Good Saturday Afternoon

A soon to be married best friend of mine is having hard time with her wedding preparations. A bridezilla she is, we decided to treat her with something nice before officially tying the knot with her future husband. A 2 hours Spa session at Poise Organic Wellness Studio was where we were yesterday afternoon.

Thanks to Groupon, we managed to grab a worth-cheap ass 75% discount on full head to toe treatment. In way, I got to claim the much needed "me" time that I've been longing for. Only this time, I got to spend it with the girlfriends, how cool is that?! Being pregnant doesn't stop me from pampering myself with the goodness of Spa treatment although I did not get to enjoy the jacuzzi bath / steam bath / sauna but the full body scrub + foot massage + full body + head massage + eye refreshment were the bomb-est! I felt so fresh, light and most importantly, I felt clean after the session.

Before our 2pm session.

To bad that I didn't take photos of yesterday's event. Too caught-up with the "kesedapan". The place is nice. Totally recommended. Oh, it's so happen that the owner is an ex-stuff of SAA. A small world it is. Pi mai pi mai, tang tu saja!

I wish I could have the luxury to spend on Spa treatment every month. Tapi apa kan daya, I have other commitments to prioritize instead of spending just on leisure. Tapi apa yang penting, yesterday was the bomb-est!

How was your weekend? Hope you got to enjoy it as much as I am! *happy smile*

#3 What's eating for two means?

Ever since I reached the 20th week of pregnancy, my eating habits has changed tremendously which explain how tembun I look now. The desire of having food is completely unstoppable. I eat on an average of 2 hours per break. So basically, I'm stuffed with food 24 hours a day. Oh! Ini bukan nafsu ye, ini adalah saya yang dalam keadaan kelaparan.

My food intake consists of rice for lunch and dinner (it's a must!) and sometimes during breakfast too - depends on the mood. I'm always up to nasi lemak in the morning or else the food prepared by my love madre would be sufficient to stand till lunch. Usually it'll be mee hoon goreng, fried kuey teow or paling koman pon 4 keping of karipap makcik depan taman. And by 12.30pm, I'll be preparing myself for lunch - nasi!

I must say that it worries me sometimes as I never had this kind of habits before. I eat, a lot but not as much as how I consume food now. With so, I've prepared myself with the kind of food that I should and shouldn't take during pregnancy to avoid from being over-weight or having hard time loosing weight after pregnancy.

After all, I have to make sure that ibu and baby get all the best nutrients.

Well, it's pretty common for most moms-to-be to be facing the non-stop eating habits during pregnancy. With the food guide I hope that we are able to stay fit and healthy at the same time. Insyaallah!

Selamat mencuba dan selamat beramal :)

And now you're back, you don't get to get me back

If I were still in that phase where everything seems senseless, I would've adored this song to the last bit. But I'm glad that it was written and kept nicely in one of the chapters of my life. At least, I have something nice to tell my children how "challenging" their dad was *tehee* and we survived it, in the most unforgettable way
